The FA are determining whether Everton forward Oumar Niasse dived in the area during Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Scott Dann was penalised by referee Anthony Taylor over the incident when there appeared to be minimal contact with Niasse.

Niasse claimed there was contact on his shoulder and has said he would be “shocked” if he became the first Premier League player retrospectively banned for diving.

For Niasse to be hit with a two-game suspension, the three-man FA panel must find “overwhelming evidence” he dived and come to a unanimous judgment.

Dann said: “He has conned the referee. It definitely was not a penalty. Whether there is retrospective or not it does not make a difference to us.”

Niasse said: “The contact was on my upper body and when I heard the contact I had to go on the floor.”
