Olivier Giroud has been put through his paces as a Chelsea player after the striker underwent his first training session at Cobham on Thursday.

The France forward trained with the rest of the Chelsea team at the club's training base in Cobham, just a day after he sealed an £18m transfer to the club from London rivals Arsenal.

Giroud, who signed an 18-month deal at Chelsea on transfer deadline day, was seen performing various warm-up drills alongside the likes of Willian before he took part in a game later in the session.

The 31-year-old could now be in line for his debut on Monday night, when Chelsea travel to take on Watford in the Premier League, because Alvaro Morata is still recovering from a back injury.

Chelsea allowed their only other striker, Michy Batshuayi, to leave on loan to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday meaning they have only Morata and Giroud available as options up front - making it highly likely that the latter will start at Vicarage Lane on Monday.
