President Donald Trump turned down Piers Morgan's suggestion he should become Arsenal's new manager, much to Hector Bellerin's relief.

The Good Morning Britain presenter sat down with Trump this week at the World Economic Forum in Davos for the commander-in-chief's first international broadcast interview.

While promoting the interview on social media during the week, Morgan posted a picture of himself handing Trump an Arsenal shirt with No.45 on its back and promising a "hilarious" response.

Bellerin quickly replied a simple "Hope he said no" with an added rolling of the eyes emoji, and the right-back's prayers were answered on Sunday evening.

Morgan notes that Trump's son, Baron, is an Arsenal fan and offers Arsene Wenger's role to the sitting US president, adding: "Baron, I'm sure, shares my view.

"We are looking for an attacking philosophy, a strong defensive wall, a winning at all costs mentality and someone who only wants big trophies. Are you an Arsenal fan?"

Trump's response? "Not particularly, no. I have a friend [members of the Glazer family] who owns Manchester United."
