Chelsea's highly-rated attacking midfielder Charly Musonda has signed a new contract, the club have announced.

The 21-year-old has extended his stay at Stamford Bridge for a further three years, with his new deal set to expire in 2022.

Musonda was brought into the first-team fold by Chelsea coach Antonio Conte this summer, and went on to score on his full debut in the Blues' 5-1 Carabao Cup win over Nottingham Forest in September.

And Musonda admitted he was "proud" to have put pen to paper on a new deal, and stated his desire to become a regular member of Conte's first-team.

"I am very happy and very proud," the Belgian told Chelsea's official website.

"I came here very young and am very happy to continue my journey here. I love this club so it’s a great moment for me and my family.

"Now I want to establish myself and progress into the team and stay here permanently."

Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia added: "We are very happy Charly has committed his future to the club.

"He is an exciting talent who we believe can develop into an important first-team player and we hope he will be a part of Chelsea’s successes for a long time to come."
