Cesar Azpilicueta admits Chelsea's poor run of results is having a damaging effect on the player's morale.

Chelsea had to rely on a late equaliser from Eden Hazard to secure a 3-3 draw against Roma in the Champions League last night despite going 2-0 up at home.

It means Antonio Conte's side have gone three games without a win in all competitions and will be under pressure when they face Watford in the League on Saturday.

The majority of the squad left Stamford Bridge in hasty fashion after the Roma game, refusing to talk to the media.

Speaking to Standard Sport, Azpilcueta confirmed: "The mood at the moment is not the best.

"To come back into the game to get a point is big for the team, to show the character and that we won't give up.

"But the reality is that we have gone three games without a win and we will try to get back to winning ways on Saturday.

"It's true that we are not in our best moment. We came into the game after two consecutive defeats in the Premier League.

"We had the game in our hands when we were 2-0 up, but we also had it lost when we were 3-2 down. We managed to get a point, we are top of the group and we will keep fighting."

To add to Chelsea's woes, David Luiz was taken off in the second half with a calf problem and coach Antonio Conte also revealed that Tiemoue Bakayoko suffered pain in his groin.

The club are already without midfielder N'Golo Kante and Victor Moses (both hamstring), while summer signing Danny Drinkwater has yet to make his debut due to thigh and calf injuries.
