Alvin Kamara has played lights out since the New Orleans Saints promoted him to the backup rusher role after trading Adrian Peterson. The rookie rusher has over 100 yards of offense in six of the last seven games. In Week 13, Kamara rushed nine times for 60 yards and two touchdowns and caught five passes for 66 yards in the win over the Carolina Panthers. He has over 60 yards receiving in four of the last five games and has scored at least once in every game since Week 8.
Kamara is looking at a great matchup against the Atlanta Falcons Thursday night. The Falcons have allowed the seventh-most yards receiving to pass-catchers out of the backfield. They have also allowed four receiving touchdowns to RBs this season, a tie for third-most in the league. Kamara has at least five catches in six of the last seven games.
Fantasy impact: Kamara is a fantasy gem. He has 116-plus yards of offense in five straight games and he has scored in the last six straight games. He still takes a backseat to teammate Mark Ingram in rushing duties, but he is a fixture in the Saints’ passing game. The Falcons struggle to defend against pass-catching RBs. Kamara is looking at another big week Thursday night.
