Fantasy football start sit advice Week 6: What to do with Javorius Allen

Stepping up for starter Terrance West, Allen is looking at another big fantasy week in Chicago.

NFL: International Series-Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars Steve Flynn-USA TODAY Sports

Javorius Allen stepped up big when Terrance West went down on the opening drive of the Baltimore Ravens Week 5 win over the Oakland Raiders. Allen finished the game with 73 rushing yards and a touchdown on 21 carries and four catches for 12 receiving yards. Allen was the clear workhorse over teammate Alex Collins with nine additional carries and most of the goal-line work including his first rushing touchdown this season.

The Ravens are unsure on whether they will have West back against the Bears Sunday. The Bears are depleted throughout their defense. They do get linebacker Danny Trevathan back in the lineup this week. If West cannot play Sunday, Allen will once again lead the Ravens rushing attack.

Fantasy impact: Allen was already noteworthy in PPR leagues with at least four catches in the last four games. Now, he is an all-around threat starting in the place of West. Allen will get a chance to exploit an ailing Bears linebacking corps with either the run or the pass. His ability to be a dual threat against Chicago Sunday gives him a high fantasy ceiling in this matchup.

Recommendation: Start
