There are plenty of ways to describe a sack. A player can deck the quarterback, or stick him, or light him up. But we’ve never heard anyone talk about a sack quite like this.
Robert Quinn sacked Russell Wilson in the third quarter of Rams vs. Seahawks on Sunday. But Spero Dedes struggled to come up with an appropriate way to describe it during his call of the play.
“They dick Russell Wilson,” Dedes says.
That’s a new one. We assume that Dedes was trying to decide between “stick” and “deck” and just went with a combination of the two. But no matter where it came from, it’s pretty funny.
