Deshaun Watson put on a show and 6 more things we loved about the NFL in Week 8

We had the battle of all battles in Seattle on Sunday.

NFL: Houston Texans at Seattle Seahawks Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

If you can’t stop thinking about the Texans and Seahawks thriller, you aren’t alone. I’m actually upset that there had to be a loser of that game — it feels like a crime.

Deshaun Watson and Russell Wilson played their tails off. Wilson had 452 yards through the air with four touchdowns against one interception. He also had 30 yards on the ground, giving him 482 total yards on the afternoon. The Seahawks finished with 479 — that’s how good he was.

For Watson, this was his “I’m here” game. We all knew what Watson was capable of, but he showed up against the Seahawks in Seattle.

Yes, his final stats will show that he had three interceptions, but the last one was a desperation heave. He also had 402 yards passing and four touchdowns, as well as 67 yards on the ground.

He’s a rookie and did all of that while making it look easy.

The Texans defense is down its two best players in J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus, and their absence was seen and felt on Sunday. But for as good as the defense has been in the past few years, Watson proved that he can be the quarterback who is going to give them the offensive production that they’ve been looking for.

They put up 14 points in the first quarter. Since the Seahawks flipped the script and became one of the NFL’s most consistent winners under Pete Carroll, that hasn’t happened to them at home since 2012, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

The Seahawks defense also hadn’t given up a touchdown in the fourth quarter all season. Watson threw two touchdown passes in the fourth.

If you have NFL Network, find out when it will that game again and record it. If you have NFL Game Pass, utilize it and watch the game if you missed it.

It was some incredible football between two teams with a heap of talent, and it was just one of many things that we loved about the NFL this week.

The Steelers are still the most fun team in the NFL

Unless they’re going up against your favorite team, how you could not love watching the Steelers?

They’ve had two of the best group celebrations this season by shooting dice and played hide-and-seek. On Sunday night, Le’Veon Bell got a bench press in with the help of his offensive line, with rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster acting as the bench:

Based on his first two reps, it looks like his linemen got too ambitious in giving him a spot. He was getting full extension on his reps and was going at a good pace.

Let’s also note: Martavis Bryant wasn’t in on the celebration. He was benched this week.

Speaking of Bryant — his nemesis, Smith-Schuster, had a 97-yard touchdown on Sunday night. He paid tribute to his once stolen and now found bike by putting a chain over an exercise bike on the Steelers sideline:

I’m going to welcome the Blogfather, Alex Kirshner to this week’s recap to speak on his “Stillers” and these wonderful celebrations:

The Steelers had become way too stale. The injection of JuJu Smith-Schuster has skyrocketed their celebration game and general fun factor to levels not previously reached in the city of Pittsburgh. His willingness to be Le’Veon Bell’s personal bench speaks to his immense value to this team, both now and for years to come.

Thank you, Blogfather.

Mohamed Sanu let ‘em know who’s boss

The Atlanta Falcons got a much-needed road win in terrible conditions against the Jets. For Falcons fans, it was a tough game to watch, since it seemed every other play on offense had somebody dropping the *Quavo voice* slippery ball because of the heavy rain.

Mohamed Sanu scored the touchdown that would put the Falcons up for good. He also let rookie Jamal Adams know there ain’t a damn thing he could do about that play:

“That’s right, pleighboi. Don’t try me with that weak shit!” - Mohamed Sanu, probably.

The Falcons have struggled offensively, but to see some swagger out of Sanu — who has dealt with a nagging hamstring injury this season — was good.

Next week, the Falcons travel to Carolina, where they can make up some ground in the NFC South with a win.

And you know, get rid of that “Super Bowl hangover” label.

You have never been *this* in sync with somebody like this before

Benjamin’s safety was truly a blessing in disguise. Because of it, we got this perfect synchronization of safety calls from the officials in the Chargers-Patriots game.

It honestly could not be more perfect. It almost looks like one human is splitting into two, as their arms come up from their hips, and they walk backward in unison.

If you have the juice to remix that into various songs, do it. The internet needs it and will be a better place for it.

Until then, I’m going to keep watching this.

The Eagles’ game of baseball is reaching new levels

Three weeks ago, the Eagles did a home run celebration with Torrey Smith, Nelson Agholor, and Alshon Jeffery.

Sunday, they expanded on that celebration. After Agholor gave up a home run, Ertz decided...

Deshaun Watson: floor general

Yeah, like I said earlier, the Seahawks and Texans played a game that kept you on the edge of your seat on Sunday.

On one play, Watson pointed out a block he needed from Alfred Blue to pick up a first down. It was on some I Am Chris Paul, Point God, Set This Screen For Me business. And Blue took those orders seriously:

That block is going to be felt on Monday and probably into Tuesday. That was quite the lick.

Sorry Travis Benjamin, but we gotta talk about you this week

I really didn’t want to laugh at this, but it’s impossible not to.

This play is the epitome of telling somebody they could handle something in your life, and then you start playing from behind.

Eventually, it catches up with you and everything is bad:

Benjamin is a good player who will recover from this blunder.

For now, we laugh.
