British Super Bowl star Jay Ajayi is pleased to see the back of Alexis Sanchez at Arsenal.

Ajayi, 24, is bidding to become only the fifth Brit to win a Super Bowl ring when his Philadelphia Eagles take on the New England Patriots on Sunday night.

London-born Ajayi is a big Gunners fan and regularly tunes into Arsenal Fan TV after watching matches Stateside.

Sanchez was sold to Manchester United last month with Henrikh Mkhitaryan heading in the other direction.

But Ajayi was happy to see Sanchez finally leave - especially following Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's arrival.

"Basically, good riddance," Ajayi said to ESPN.

"I'm for the guys who are in the team, the guys who want to be there.

"It's unfortunate how things happened but I'm a supporter of the guys that play for the team and want to be there and are loyal to the team."

More than anything, Ajayi is delighted with the fact Arsenal managed to tie Mesut Ozil down to a new deal.

Speaking in an exclusive Q&A with the Mirror, Ajayi said: “I like the Ozil signing. Obviously, I was stoked about Pierre.

"I play Fifa a lot and a couple of years ago, I had even moved Aubameyang to Arsenal in one of my manager lives so it’s kind of funny that he’s at Arsenal in real life. That’s kind of cool.

"But I’m hyped that we got Ozil back for a couple more years because he is such a quality player.

“I’m excited about Aubameyang. He is going to be a beast. He’s going to score a lot of goals for us. He’s been given the No.14, which is surprising. He’s got a lot to live up to so let’s hope he does that.”
