Manchester United have opened talks with David De Gea over a new deal.

The Spaniard remains a target for Real Madrid after a switch fell through a couple of years ago.

United remain determined to keep De Gea, regarded as many by the best goalkeeper in Europe.

And the Telegraph reports they have begun talks over a new long-term contract in a bid to ward off Real.

Alexis Sanchez has reportedly agreed a four-year deal with Manchester United worth £56million.

The Arsenal forward, whose contract at the Gunners runs out at the end of the season, could join the Old Trafford club in time to face Burnley this weekend.

Sanchez will earn £270,000-a-week after tax, according to the Daily Telegraph .

But his move hinges on United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan going in the opposite direction as part of the deal.

The Armenian arrived at training in Manchester this morning as he ponders his options.

Mourinho close to agreeing extension

Jose Mourinho is close to agreeing a contract extension with Manchester United.

Mourinho's representatives have been in talks with United over an extension to his current £15million-a year deal, which runs to June 2019.

Although talks are still progressing and nothing has been signed as yet, both parties are confident an extension, likely to run to June 2021, will be agreed in due course.

Only recently Mourinho described as "garbage" claims he was set to quit United this summer because he felt would be unable to overhaul local rivals Manchester City and managerial foe Pep Guardiola.
