Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has dismissed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's 'bad boy' reputation.

The Borussia Dortmund striker is set to complete a move to Arsenal in the final days of the window.

Aubameyang is no stranger to controversy and was suspended this month by Dortmund for a breach of discipline.

He was also dropped earlier this season after turning up late for training and has often been criticised for his lavish lifestyle.

But Klopp, who signed Aubameyang for Dortmund, has played down claims about his antics.

"Auba is really a good guy,' he told DAZN.

"Of course, reading the newspapers, you ask yourself if all these things happen.

"But in fact things are not as controversial as they are presented."

Arsenal believe they have reached a £58m deal for the striker after going back to Dortmund with a new approach, including extra add-ons.

Aubameyang, 28, will sign a £180,000-a-week contract to join Arsenal with the deal now nearing completion before Wednesday's deadline.

Dortmund look set to bring in Chelsea's Michy Batshuayi on loan as a replacement.
