Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has left London Colney for the day after finalising his move to Arsenal.

The Gabonese put pen to paper on a long-term deal at the Emirates after the Gunners paid £56million to prise him away from the Bundesliga.

And Aubameyang was all smiles as he left the training ground with his family as he prepares to embark on a new challenge in the Premier League.

The 28-year-old was identified by Gunners boss Arsene Wenger as his first-choice replacement for Alexis Sanchez after he joined Manchester United.

Michy Batshuayi will replace the Gabon striker at Dortmund, with Chelsea set to sign Gunners striker Olivier Giroud, to complete the transfer merry-go-round.

Speaking after being announced on Deadline Day, Aubameyang sent a message of intent to the Arsenal supporters.

"I hope that we will come back to the top as soon as possible," the Gabon told arsenal.com. "I will do my best to join in."

Aubameyang also revealed why Arsenal appealed to him, saying: "I think the club has such a big history and great players like Thierry Henry.

"He's an example for us strikers. I'm really happy, like I said before."

On Henry, he added: "He was fast and scored a lot of goals. He's really an example. I'm a fast player and I score goals too, like Henry a little bit. But as I said, I have to work a lot more."
