Arsenal target Malcom completed 90 minutes in Bordeaux's 2-0 home defeat to Caen on Tuesday evening.

The Brazilian has emerged as a January target for the Gunners as they begin to plan life without Alexis Sanchez.

Chile star Sanchez looks set to leave the Emirates this month with Manchester United currently leading the chase for his signature.

Malcom has emerged as one of Ligue 1's shining lights this season and it's believed Bordeaux want around £45million in exchange for his departure.

And perhaps a reflection of how far Arsenal still need to go to acquire Malcom's services was demonstrated by the fact he started for Bordeaux on Tuesday night.

Despite his side losing, the 20-year-old still emerged as one of the game's best players.

The Brazilian starlet attempted eight dribbles, completing four, and had the fourth-most touches of any player in the Ligue 1 clash. Not bad given he was on the losing side.

After spending two years with the French club and with consistent performances such as this over the past 12-18 months it's easy to see why Arsenal are interested.
