Manchester United fans are excited about Angel Gomes . Very, very excited.

The England Under-18s star became the first Premier League player to be born in the 2000s when he appeared for United's first team in a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace on the final day of last season. And then he was seen again when he came on for the final two minutes in the FA Cup win over Yeovil last month .

The London-born attacking midfielder is being tipped to make a sustained impact in the United first team when he finally arrives in Jose Mourinho's side for good, but for now he's busy ripping apart defences at youth level.

Just like he did on Wednesday night as United reached the last-16 of the UEFA Youth League.

United won 2-0 in their playoff clash against the Serbian side Brodarac in Belgrade, with Gomes producing the moment of the match when he cut inside from the right flank and brilliantly took on the hosts' defence.

After weaving his way through, unfortunately Gomes was unable to find the net, but that didn't stop United fans everywhere from lauding both the moment and his performance.

Gomes himself later retweeted a gif of the run, and tweeted after the match: "Professional performance from the boys 2-0 win in difficult conditions, through to the last 16."
