If he doesn't even make the bench Sunday then you have to wonder why he was signed, doubt he expected to see so little action.

If he only cost 4-5 million it's a great bit of business.
We have a good left back in Robertson, but the kick up Moreno's ass is even more important. 4-5 mil for 2 new LB's that are good is lovely!

I think Robertson is probably thinking to himself "what was I thinking?". Clear as day that he wasn't a Jürgen transfer.

There was an article on the bbc website about him and why he doesn't make the bench, cleared it up,can't find the link but Klopp considers it a specialized position.Kenny has got Robertson's back he'll be o.k.

They are bedding him in nothing more/nothing less; manager has options and right now Albie has done nothing but impress; its a great position to be in for both the manager and the player.

When the games come fast and furious after the next intl break I suspect were going to see a lot more of Robertson and Ox.

You think, he always wanted someone as an understudy, it was reported before any of our interest in anybody and someone made a point about not being able to purely put a player on the bench who covers such a specialised position so I'm not convinced at all about that yet. Andy has shown brilliant crosses but he hasn't been truly tested in defence for us so we're pissing in the wind with 'how' he's playing and compare anyone to Alberto right now and you'd be having a laugh if you think he could be doing much better in defence.

The little Spaniard hasn't got nearly the praise he's deserved around here for a sparkling start to this season and in my opinion was our MotM last night. I wont lie in expecting him to turn back into the brainless player we had last season but his movement, overlaps, positioning have all been first class, his tackling is much more on his feet and less the rash scissor kick style or opposite leg approaches, so while Robertson may be frustrated I don't really care as long as Jürgen is picking on form and it would take some incredible form to oust him right now.

True, done very little wrong this season so far.

Think with Robertson, it's the fact he isn't even making the bench which is making his situation seem even worse.

In my opinion Moreno's "solid play" is a product of his POOR play in recent years. Albie isn't writing the book on how to play LB or doing anything overly impressive for that matter. All he is doing now is not screwing up. Neither LB has had much to do on the defensive side of the pitch this season. If we are talking about chances created the edge would go to Moreno just for the simple fact that his were finished and Robo's were not. Whose faults were they? To be perfectly honest Robo's crosses were more spot on IMO, but that's just how it goes sometime. And then when you factor in how many more games one plays over the other and that it is yet still close..... ???

Moreno is certainly improving, and I'm a Red fan so GREAT. However, Robo needs more chances. I think his play has warranted that (with us and Scotland.) If Moreno were playing like John Arne Riise I could understand not wanting to give him a rest, but for just playing solid footy? Well Robo is doing that too!

HAHA, this team would be a lot better off if Moreno was Riise. FACTS

Don't you think we have enough cumbersome plodders in midfield already? ;)

As for Robertson, even he has acknowledged how well Moreno has done in that BBC interview.  He'll bide his time and get his chance, no doubt.

Feel sorry for the kid - but that’s life at a big club. The man in possession stays there until a change is needed / required.

Bertie has been solid and occasionally very good - no more no less for me and right now the boss feels that’s enough.

Robbo is a far better footballer (forward and back) to my eyes but that’s doesn’t mean anything other than to me ;)

Me too.  Moreno has improved significantly this season, but Robertson has looked very good in the few opportunities he's had.  Surprised he's not been used more and hope to see more of him.

Agree, Moreno has improved but not enough to justify his place over Andy. Maybe Coutinho staying was contingent on his buddy Bertie getting the starting job back.  :f_tongueincheek:

3 starts, 2 MotM and umpteen chances created.

Hope Jürgen gives him a real chance in a big game soon.

I reckon he needs a few more Deutch lessons first or perhaps he's just not much of a hugger.

Klopp has been saying to improve and stay ready, well let’s hope Andy has been. Moreno has been playing better this year, but last night was a dumpster fire and Alby was the one who started it. He needs to sit a game and let’s hope Andy gets his run and is ready.

I know Moreno has played better, but question needs to be asked....maybe Andy IS better and would have put in even better performances than Moreno had he been given the chance.

If this was any other manager, I'd put my tinfoil hat on and wonder if Moreno being given a second chance had anything to do with trying to appease Phil. It just makes no sense that Andy NEVER gets a game or any  game time for that matter.

I agree it is genuinely bizarre, the times Robertson has played he has looked really good, yet no game time. If he doesn't get a chance soon then I really don't know what the hell is going on.

Klopp on bit of a loser here, had numerous chances to give Andy game time, if he drops Moreno now it's pretty much blaming him for last night, if he doesn't it smacks of he can do no wrong even after last nights moronic performance.

Klopp has to drop Bertie from the next game, if he doesn't Robertson might as well hand in a transfer request.

Probably play Milner, don't think he rates Robertson.
