It's not getting done this season, he'll be Coutinho's replacement next season, when Phil fucks off to the Nou Camp.

I don't recall any reliable source claiming him almost signing.

Has there been any reliable source saying we have given up?

If he has another decent season then Bayern will snap him up.

This season was our chance but as we all know we don't deserve good things!

One of them, which I suppose is reliable enough:
      http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-naby-keita-transfer-news-13401975.amp

Even the Amadou guy who's been the major source of all these "Keita desperate to join Liverpool" stories has come out and said Keita will remain at Leipzig.

The people saying we have given up are the ones saying we are pushing for him and confident we will get him. Who knows, maybe the club are just trying their best, and doing well at keeping any deal completely under wraps, not risking any leaks like the VVD situation.

Strange how reports of him almost signing bring nothing but scepticism but reports of him being ruled out are treated like gospel.

From the start it's been more likely that we wouldn't sign him than, than that we would sign him.
We're used to disappointment under FSG now, they've lowered expectations that much that failure is the norm.

The problem with FSG is dissapointment  has become the norm and its being accepted

Not sure who are these people you're referring to, but everything I've read online has said the deal is dead.

I'll try to be an optimist here, and hope it turns out like Mane's situation, where we will end up with a better player after missing on Keita.

They're that and more HR but "big week to come" is that vague he'll probably claim that pulling out of a one horse race is big news. 😕

F**k knows what twists and turns are to come but right now... losing out on two players who "only want to go to Liverpool" is F***ing cringeworthy - irrespective of who you blame. 😕

Just read that we pulled out of this deal over 2 weeks ago. Make of it what you will, but if there's nothing to say the hacks will make something up!
I think we all thought that we would tie up our deals early this summer, as Jürgen stated early on that all our business was sorted, which I think we all took that our targets were identified and we would do everything in our power to get them in! When it comes to transfer business we come across as complete amateurs.

You really show a lot of faith in the owners mate even in the face of yet another disappointing transfer window.

If anything the clubs approach to signing players is getting worse.

Our most important signing this window was a top CB and we screwed that up royally.

Our approach seems to be that we (those responsible for completing the deals) must really test just how much our targets wanna join........if they won't hand in a transfer request (or equivalent) then it's just not meant to happen......

We're like the creepy c#nt in the corner at the niteclub staring at the pretty girl hoping she'll flip them a smile then calling her a tart when she f#cks off home with someone who actually talks to her or a lesbian if she goes with her pals....

      We've all had/got "mates" like that.....right?!

I can't wait for football to start. We need a distraction from all of this. I joined this site because I wanted to talk LFC football with some knowledgeable football fans, not hear how the sky is falling or how FSG have screwed us again. Most of you guys know whats up on the field but get to caught up on the business side. I want to spend and I want to improve our squad (manly the starting 11) just as much as the next. I get that so far this hasn't started out the greatest but we have a month left and it looks as though we are moving on to new players. A lot will happen from now to the end of next month. We will sell players, we wont sell Couthino, and most importantly we will bring in new lads to help in an all important season. Lets give this thing some time fellas and see if Klopp can come through for us in the clutch. Listen to the words boys

Walk on through the wind. Walk on through the rain. Though your dreams be tossed and blown. Walk on, walk on! WITH HOPE IN YOUR HEART. And You'll Never Walk Alone

When decoded it reads "Quit your bitching and have some hope. Your going to sign VVD, Goretzka, and a more. Oh yeah, we are also going to win the league. And You'll Never Walk Alone"

Maybe if we signed the likes of Keita, VVD, or even Goretzka we might have some chance.

But that ain't happening is it??

No, not really. Most on that was tongue and cheek. However, I do get tired of coming on here and seeing dudes bi*ch, piss, and moan about FSG or Klopp. Lets break down potential transfers, the season, or formations. Anything to get us away from beating this poor dead horse, it's gotten old.

The moaning is the result of poor window after poor window.

We have a world class manager but not enough ambition to become a world class team.

The frustrating thing is we're only 2 or 3 top class players away from being one but we never seem to bring in enough real quality to go to the next level.

The common denominator in it all is FSG.

My  problem  is we are  failing  big time  to bring in players we want  to improve  our team.I   didn't  think that  the Keita deal will be  beyond  our powers .If  I am told with100%  certainty that before the end of the transfer  window  we will get more players  in I will be happy to  wait till the last day of the transfer  window. At the moment  there is no  indication,I just see more failures.

As a comparative newcomer to the forum it is understandable that you may be a trifle perplexed by the negativity surrounding our owners.
The same "dudes" who criticise JWH&Co have witnessed only a minimal improvement football-wise since the days of the confirmed fraudsters that were H&G, this in spite of promises to the contrary made by JWH himself on the hallowed turf of Anfield 7+ years ago.

You are hopefully aware of the club's history, it is not a forgone conclusion with some which is why I enquire.
JWH it appears does not have the data to hand to reference the success previously enjoyed by this club, HIS interpretation of success differs to that of the vast majority of supporters.
The eventuality of his promises does conveniently enough equate to the saving of capital, which reflects favourably on the market standing of the company.

This "dude" isn't "bitching" but pointing out a difference in priorities which never, ever leads to an achievement of mutual success.

I'm not showing anything towards them, faith or no faith, just saying a possible scenario because surely we would have had alternatives? We've always had an alternative, whether it's the likes of Balotelli or someone better, there has always been someone.
