Oh no. We'll be hearing complaints that none of our CBs can be trusted in the upcoming match threads. Neither do we have faith that our coaching team will fix up the defence. Hell is going to break loose whenever we concede.

I'm going to fasten my seatbelt.

Only if you believed random people on the internet spouting 140 characters of dribble each time.

This was done the moment we released that apology.

I know most will think me crazy, though we didn't put in a deal and all, but I think their must have been a real reason why, and that was we knew they weren't bluffing. I think we did all we could do and knew putting in a deal was all for not. A lot goes on behind the scenes that we aren't privy to, but with JK at the helm I do think we were probably in talks with Soton and we're told "he isn't for sale". We have told Barca Phil isn't for sale, and yet they keep putting bids in. I have read where a lot of people say "stop putting in bids you cu*ts, he isn't for sale yada yada yada" So we don't put in a bid for a player who obviously isn't for sale and people are mad? I don't really get the hypocrisy. If a player isn't for sale than they aren't for sale. A Sanchez, Phil, VVD, Costa, etc. all put in TR and none got sold. Everyone has money now, and the clubs no longer have to be pushed around by the player. I know we wish we had VVD here, I sure as heck do. But I'm glad clubs are standing firm on their words and don't have to sell in these situations. I think a lot of us will be saying this after tomorrow and the Couthino fiasco is put to bed. All in all like Phil I think VVD was never for sale to begin with.

Well if we'd put a bid in for him instead of having the manager meet him and get caught on The Big One in Blackpool we'd probably know a bit more.

Do we know how to buy in January? Couldn't figure it out this past January. Klopp says it costs too much to buy in January anyhow.
Personally I think Southampton would of sold VVD for about £50 million last January, wouldn't of took much more.

Well they will need to identify others because it sounds to me like Van Dijk is never coming to Liverpool.

      Or is he??

This is the only way I can understand not going for a plan B, if we manage to get it done in Jan then really what we had should have done us until then and also it's the man Jürgen wants.

There's definitely a case to be made for saying well even if VvD comes we still could have upgraded on Gomez/Klavan also, which I absolutely agree with and would have made the waiting period until Jan comes around a lot easier.

I just really hope we're not the donkey and VvD is the carrot. I don't think we are, I think we'll get our man, from what has been said around here VvD is putting in half-arsed performances, now Saints may wish to spite him the way he's spiting them but is that really healthy for their club. Surely it's better to wash their hands of him and get someone in who wants to play for them.

As reluctantly as I would have been, if Cou did the same I'd have to say F**k him off and I believe Southampton will do what's right for them, rather than what is worst for VvD.

I'm just not sure how we are in any better position to get him in January? He still has a ton of time left on his deal, Southampton is still pissed at us I'm sure....what's changed?

Whether it's him or someone else though, we simply have to buy reinforcements in January.

Gee....where I have heard that before?

It will have given them a few months to have lined someone up for his place in the team.

This might sound f***ing nuts but Klopp could have offered him the Captain's job.  I'd walk on my knees to Anfield for that.

Some would say getting these owners to spend the money necessary to compete with the likes of United, City, and Chelsea would be the bigger miracle of the two  ;)

Just read that Barca want VVD in January window. If it's true I think Southampton more likely happy to sell him aboard. If so hope VVD still want only to join us, fingers crossed.

They can have him. From what I have seen, he's another player that shines at lower teams, but sucks against better opposition. I watched him in Orange and saw him clear it after 10 feet right to an opponent striker.

Yea because you watching him kick a ball once trumps the rest of his playing history.
