I have more faith in Bobby than Sturridge.

Im happy for Studge to be a 30 minute impact sub, he'll be happy doing 30% of the work for 100% of the pay packet.

Bobby needs to be taking his fitness a bit more serious as well, his looking a lot less mobile.

Not in all games, Firmino is a much underestimated player, he creates so much space for players like Mane and Salah to exploit, so I don't agree that Sturridge automatically starts in all games but of course having a fully fit Sturridge would be a massive benefit to the team.

Totally agree. They both should not be automatically selected players, they should play according to our opponent and their weakness.

Didn't say to get rid of him. But a fit Sturridge replaces Firmino in the starting lineup, and where else will Firmino play?

Disagree, I think Klopp will be starting Bobby up top, with Mane and Salah either side of him.

But a bit like last years derby at Goodison, Sturridge will be a good option to bring off the bench.

Am I being a bit harsh in saying I expected a goal from him in pre-season by now?

Agreed mate. Was the same as at the back end of last season. He has his shots on goal but there's no venom to them and he keeps hitting it straight at the Keeper. Once 1 goes in, I'm confident, many more will follow.

I'd bet large money you're right about Bob.

He's our main man up top. Some still think it's an experiment.

Gutted for him. The man needs a break. Shows his genius but pulls up doing so.

Sadly I don't think any amount of breaks will help him at this point if this new injury is anywhere near serious.

Even from a psychological point of view that injury got me F***ing depressed and I'm not even him. Poor lad.

      Proper striker him.

Analysing the keeper from the sidelines knowing what he would do if he got the chance in on goal.

Sounds like he's okay too, which is a Brucie bonus.

45 minutes will be okay, he may even need some time match fitness. If he plays 90 minutes Southgate will get some angry phone called from Liverpool I am sure... he is not ready for 90 minutes.

Agree that if Studge can get games under his belt and get sharpness back, he'll get goals. And we saw end of last season with Cou deep and Studge up top, that can work very well. I still remember him rounding the keeper against WH, super strikers finish.

But I'd still have sold him in the summer gone - IF IF, ONLY IF we'd put the money toward a guy who'd get 20 a season. City have Aguero, Utd have Lukaku, Spuds Kane, Chavs Morata. etc  Studge ended last season well, we'd have got good money for him.  We didn't have anyone in the top10 scorers last season. No reason to expect any different this season. Can you win a PL without a guy like that? Don't think so.

There's other reasons tho too. His injury record obviously. But another big one is I don't think Klopp fancies him. Even when fit last season, he didn't get a game. Baffled me, Firmino's a good player, but not the natural finisher Studge is. What's the point in keeping him in that case?, it's not going to do his confidence any good, and a striker needs that more than any other position.

BUT we didn't sell. So it's back to all the if, buts and maybes ... which aren't what win you PLs. As much as I really like Daniel, and think he's the best striker we have on his day, just think he's always going to be the 'nearly' man.  REALLY HOPE he proves me very wrong though...
