No new CB has to fall at the feet of Jürgen, he really seems to have a problem with this area, after all he has signed 3 in his time here. Matip (free), Klavan (free), and Caulkner (loan).
It's almost as if he has and unbreakable belief that Lovren will somehow improve at his age.

Waiting for somebody much more knowledgeable and able than me to do that thing where we see what players we have for each position in a typical Klopp formation..

The real question is why instead of dropping hints to the press about how VVD wanted to come to Liverpool etc etc we never actually made a bid before all this tapping up nonsense started

It's just pure and typical Liverpool isn't it?

Really disappointed with the business in this window  Surely the signings made should have been additions to a few top quality signing that we seemed to have missed... Really can not see us going any further than the final 16 in the Champions League and with the way Everton have strengthen under Koeman and Spurs, This is going to be a hard fought season...

Everton are sh*te. They've bought a load of tat.
Spurs are arguably worse than they were 3 months ago so I don't know where you're getting that from either unless you think signing a backup centre back and a homophobic, police assaulting scumbag makes you stronger.

I used to stick up for them in the past, calling for objectivity.....no more. Ready for them to be gone and have some owners that care about the football being played on the field. Just don't see it with this group.

Haven't we done this all before, Benito? Chuck money at it, is that all it's about? Lamar isn't proven (yet) and figures chucked around earlier were talking about €92m......Id rather we didn't join in the money burning competition. Look at City, they've chucked pots at it (and bought the money grabbing little toe rag who looks likely to disappear down the crapper- or Arsenal as it's known round here) and are they any better than us? Don't we expect to do them in a couple of weeks, with or without  Couts? Im not sure Pep is all that in the Premier League anyway.

Couts will knuckle down I think, on the promise of being let go next year. Worked in the past. I don't think he's a nasty lad, just a bit too easily led.

I'm up for a steady build. Think the way the recent negotiations have been conducted in a bit more privacy, are a lot more reassuring that we've learned some sort of lesson. What's it the Gooners say??? In Arsenne we trust, well I trust Herr Klopp more.

You sound more of an old school fella to me, who understands our history didn't start in 2005, and knows the ins and outs that have brought us to where we are today.

      A steady build is right.
Some of this lot would have had Shanks out before he won his first title, and lost out on a dynasty because they wanted instant results.
Steady wins the race when you have a man like Klopp in charge.

      Hallelujah brother,
finally you've become a Socialist, railing against those capitalist pigs.

I salute you, and urge you to follow your dream and call for demonstrations against this injustice.

Get the pitchforks and the rope, and run them varmints out of town, because now is the time for heroes to take back our club.

So, y'know, let me know how it goes you pretentious F**k knuckle.

I don't get the people who stick up for them so much. It seems odd to me not just because of the lack of success since they joined or their consistent failure to get deals over the line, but also because they are very obviously treating us as an asset.

They are, after all, yank businessmen (see: burgers, relentless TV commercials, H&G; environmental, social and economic catastrophes etc. ) who took advantage of a dire situation to 'rescue' us and in so doing made a tonne of money.

Who in their right mind would think, 'ah, yeah, they've obviously got our interests at heart'? There is only so much overlap that exists between our interests as supporters and their interests as owners.

Obviously they don't want us being relegated and success on the pitch is clearly good for business, but equally there is a limit to how much they are prepared to do to ensure we are equipped to win major trophies and that falls short of the high expectations most of us as supporters rightly seek to uphold.

How else can you explain our failure to make a single bid for our main transfer target this summer without even having a plan B in case it didn't come off or waiting until the final few days to bid for Lemar?

Coutinho is next year's war chest. Heard he's getting a special kit made just a big brown sack with a dollar sign on it.

The drawstring that closes around his neck will be gold to honour the western union deal.

Lets be honest for a second, when you factor in qualification for champions league group stages no matter if we finish 4th in group we'll net at least £40m, then £6m minimum from gate in the home games, FSG have effectively spent zero this window..

Big promises made, hardly anything delivered

      It's getting old now.

But like the fans customers mugs we are they know how much we love this club and we will support the lads fully week in week out and they ultimately get away with promising big and delivering low

      Well talk about feeling deflated.

I hoped FSG would kick on & get players like VVD & Lemar over the line..

Disappointed & I hope we don't crash & burn by Jan.

By the time next summer comes and we sell Coutinho our war chest should be nearing £450m...

I was fuming yesterday having barnies with anyone suggesting FSG were the real deal.

I was waiting to wake up and see our rivals had snatched our targets like they have done in the past but nothing absolutely nothing happened for anyone at all.

I listened to and started to believe VVD was in the bag and Lemur was our big signing this year. Monaco accepted a bid from Arsenal but we refused to match it as FSG including some fans on here believed it was too high.

What a let down once again.

Not sure what the summer net spend is but im guessing with the sale of Sakho its quite low. Maybe someone with the summer ins/out can let me know.

We had a chance to get real players on board and really strengthen against our rivals but we have sat back once again and watched the chance pass by.

My opinion of FSG couldn't get any lower but today I wont be arguing with any of you FSG backers I have realised they are never going to change.

My wish for new owners remains, ones that care about on field success.

I strongly believe its been a perfect summer for FSG.
