'He's a diva' - Eamon Dunphy thinks Jose Mourinho's days at Manchester United are numbered

The Manchester United boss, who is halfway through a three-year contract, dismissed reports that he will quit Old Trafford at the end of the season as 'garbage' yesterday and said he would stay as long as the club want him.

Dunphy believes the Portuguese has become disillusioned with his lack of power at United and described him as a 'diva' who is 'not respected in the game'.

"I think he is tiresome now. I think he's in a trap. I don't think he's in control of the buying and selling at Old Trafford, he's moaning about that," he told Game On on RTE 2FM.

"He's not a likeable character and he is not the type of person you could respect in the way I have huge respect for Antonio Conte because he has a sense of humour, he's passionate of course and he's a proper man.

"I think Mourinho's a diva, let's put it that way. He's not doing a a great job at Old Trafford and he's not in control. That's what bugs him.

"He hasn't made the commitment to move to Manchester, he's living in a hotel, flying back to London on private jets and stuff like that. He won't be there much longer.

"He'll be in Paris. They were made for each other. He was never a fit for United. United were never a fit for him.

"Ed Woodward is there, the chief executive, and he's the guy who, in my opinion, bought Pogba. There is no way a football person would pay  £90m for Paul Pogba.

"I think it was a statement that United wanted to make. That  they were big players but they are not big players anymore. They couldn't afford to get Philippe Coutinho for example and he wouldn't want to go there.

"I think Mourinho is passed his sell-by-date I fear and he's certainly not a respected figure in the game."
