Arsenal have posted a video on their official website confirming the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with comments from manager Arsene Wenger welcoming the player to the club.

Independent.ie confirmed on Monday that Arsenal have agreed a club record deal to sign Aubameyang, but his arrival appears to be dependent on Dortmund signing a replacement on transfer deadline day.

Arsenal’s website recorded an interview with Wenger after their 3-1 defeat at Swansea on Tuesday that was presumably designed to be used once Aubameyang’s transfer was confirmed, but it was posted a little too soon.

“It’s good news,” declared Wenger. “At the moment we are not efficient enough going forward and I’m convinced he can give us that. He is welcome.”

Aubameyang is having a medical at Arsenal ahead of a potential move, with Dortmund only likely to give the green light to the deal once they have signed a striker.
