New Leicester boss Puel needs time, says Christian Fuchs

Frenchman Puel replaced the popular Craig Shakespeare last month and Leicester head to Stoke on Saturday for his second game in charge.

Puel's appointment was met with scepticism, despite the 56-year-old guiding Southampton to eighth in the Premier League and the League Cup final, where they lost to Manchester United, last season.

Leicester beat Everton 2-0 in Puel's first game in charge last weekend and the boss wants evolution rather than revolution at the King Power Stadium, with Fuchs ready for his approach.

"It always takes some time to show the team his philosophy and ideas. They're obviously new. I don't think he will change everything drastically, but he has a couple of new approaches which I think are good for us," he said.

"Some of these approaches we already saw in the Everton game. We won that game as we know and we're looking forward to working with him.

"We have a new manager and he's trying to implement his new ideas, so it's good to get away for a couple of days and come back and start again."

Victory over Everton lifted Leicester to 11th and a win in the early kick-off would send the Foxes into the top 10 for the first time this season.

They also face Manchester City, West Ham and Tottenham this month before the Christmas period.

Fuchs said: "I'm looking forward to all those games and this tight schedule in December. I think it's seven or eight games, so it's going to be tough.

"I think it's down to which team recovers the best because there are so many games that you cannot think about anything. You just keep going. Hopefully, we'll collect a lot of points.

"It feels good to have a little break with December coming up. It refreshes your thoughts and you come back completely focused."
