Tottenham Hotspur have been after Bournemouth forward Joshua King, presumably to supplement Vincent Janssen as backup to Harry Kane. However, reports surfaced today that Everton have displayed a renewed interest in the player.

King scored 16 goals for Bournemouth last season, his career high. While the Norwegian forward mostly played as a secondary striker, he can also be deployed on either flank, making him even more desirable to Ronald Koeman.
The Cherries are rumored to be asking around £15 million for King’s services, and given the presence of Jermain Defoe, Benik Afobe, and Callum Wilson, can probably afford to let him leave the Vitality Stadium.
Josh King’s dribbling ability and willingness to run would make him an interesting fit as a depth attacker for the Blues. Given the departures of Romelu Lukaku, Enner Valencia, and Arouna Kone, King may have more opportunities to find a full-time role at Goodison Park than White Hart Lane Wembley.

Overperforming expected goals is certainly a concern, but in a lessened role, with better teammates and a better manager, Everton could do a lot worse than Joshua King as a supplement to Sandro Ramirez, Wayne Rooney, Kevin Mirallas, and Yannick Bolasie.
You wouldn’t want King to be instead of Olivier Giroud (or Edin Dzeko, or Christian Benteke, or...), but in addition to - the Blues need attackers, and a winger/striker hybrid like King might be a good choice.
