Tom Davies & Jonjoe Kenny in Derby Preview Q&A

They don’t get more Scouse than this pair, do they?

Two homegrown talents playing in the Merseyside Derby for the good guys, it doesn’t get any better than this. Tom Davies and Jonjoe Kenny haven’t played in too many derbies in their short careers so far, but they’ll certainly be up for a battle on a Sunday when Everton travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool.

Speaking to the Sky Sports crew in the pre-game Q&A session, the two appeared relaxed and in good humour, answering a variety of questions.

Speaking about the new manager Sam Allardyce, Davies said -

"I've enjoyed it so far. He's dead straightforward.

"He's lively about the place and just tells you how it is. You know exactly what he wants from you and as a player that's what you need. There is no confusion and I'm enjoying it."

Kenny added that the players could already see the effect Big Sam was having on the side -

"To get a win and a clean sheet is a decent start. I don't think you can get better than that as a first game.

"He has come in with his own ideas and everyone has taken to them. The backroom staff he has brought in have been brilliant and we've kicked on."

If the tumultuous beginning to the season had demoralized the squad, they certainly appear to have bounced back well since that debacle with Ronald Koeman and David Unsworth.
