Sunday is a big day for Everton football, with the Ladies kickoff at home against Sunderland only 15 minutes before the men’s derby starts.

The Blues have a lot to cheer about now that they have officially made it to the next round of the Continental Cup, no small feat considering they were up against very difficult competition.

Since the team played three weeks ago, defender Gabrielle George got a senior England call up for two World Cup qualifying games.

Coach Andy Spence said on Twitter that the team have had two good behind closed doors games.

Sunderland currently sit in 6th place while Everton are in 9th but a win on Sunday could send them higher up on the FWSL table.

The Black Cats are coming off of an impressive 1-0 win over Liverpool Ladies and can boast of a FIFA Puskas Award runner up on their squad, Irish forward Stephanie Roche.

Everton are coming off of two cup wins and forward Chloe Kelly is on a scoring streak, netting a hat-trick against Oxford United.

Predictions:

2-1, Everton

Kirstie Levell, Georgia Brougham, Gabrielle George, Danielle Turner, Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, Angharad James, Megan Finnegan, Chloe Kelly, Simone Magill, Claudia Walker, Courtney Sweetman-Kirk
