Site investigation work ongoing for Everton stadium at Bramley Moore dock

While the club hasn’t said anything officially, work has been ongoing in testing the viability of Bramley Moore dock for the new Everton stadium. Eagle-eyed local photographer Dave Wood posted on his Twitter account that a company called Structural Soils had set up base at the dock.

Structural Soils, per their website, are a UK-based ‘geotechnical and geoenvironmental site investigation company’ started in 1964.

Structural Soils has expert knowledge of all aspects of geotechnical engineering, having accumulated over 50 years of experience. The company has worked with a variety of clients in different sectors, including consulting engineers, architects, local and statutory authorities, government bodies, limited companies and private individuals.

The Liverpool Echo speculate that the company are just one of numerous surveyors commissioned by the club, looking at the possibility of building new structures on the infilled dock.

Six months ago, Wood had captured pictures of Kaymac Marine working at the dock as well. That company, according to their website, are ‘leaders in the fields of specialist sub-sea marine civil engineering’ for over three decades.

For all intents and purposes it appears that Everton are doing their due diligence on the Bramley Moore dock before applying for planning permission from the City of Liverpool which will allow actual building work to commence.
