Lineups:

Starting XI - Pickford; Kenny, Holgate, Williams, Martina; Gueye, Schneiderlin; Lennon, Rooney, Sigurdsson; Calvert-Lewin

Subs: Robles, Keane, Jagielka, Sandro, Davies, Vlasic, Lookman

Swansea City

Starting XI - Fabianski, Naughton, Fernandez, Mawson, Olsson, Roque Mesa, Fer, Carroll, Dyer, Narsingh, Bony

Subs: Nordfeldt, van der Hoorn, Rangel, Clucas, Sanches, Ayew, Abraham

Final Verdict:

Everton were poor in the first half, and it could be argued that Swansea City were good value for their lead. However, the timing of the equalizer just before the half filled the Blues with confidence. Wayne Rooney really should give up the penalty taking duties though, we’ve been very lucky twice now after he’s had a spotkick saved, this time Dominic Calvert-Lewin was on hand to push the rebound in.

Sam Allardyce pushed the Toffees into a more aggressive 4-1-4-1 in the second half and it immediately made all the difference as first Gylfi Sigurdsson curled in an absolute beauty from outside the box, and then Rooney slotted home from another penalty, this time Jonjoe Kenny hauled down on the very edge of the box.
