Two key members of the squad made their return to competitive football as Yannick Bolasie and James McCarthy both played the first half of the Everton Under-23s game on Friday. The pair might not be back to full match fitness yet but could be on the bench as Swansea City visit Goodison Park for the Monday night game.

There is still no news on Leighton Baines and his calf issue, while Ross Barkley is getting closer and closer to a return after undergoing hamstring surgery before the start of the season.

The games have been coming thick and fast and Sam Allardyce has stuck with the tried and tested lineup, but Monday against the bottom of the table Swans gives him an opportunity for some rotation especially in the defence with Michael Keane and Phil Jagielka fit again.

For the visitors, Wilfried Bony left the game in the midweek loss to Manchester City with a muscle issue, but he should be good to go tonight. Wayne Routledge missed that game, also with a muscle ailment, but is expected back too.
