There were some big names missing in David Unsworth’s first Everton lineup since he took over as interim manager.

Starting XI - Pickford; Kenny, Keane, Jagielka, Baines; Davies, Baningime, Gueye; Sigurdsson, Niasse, Rooney.

Subs - Joel, Williams, Lennon, Besic, Calvert-Lewin, Holgate, Lookman.

There were few chances of note for either side in the first half, with Leighton Baines shooting weakly straight at the goalie, and then Richarlison firing wide after rounding Jordan Pickford.

However immediately after the break he made amends for the previous miss, putting the visitors up by one, and minutes later they were up two off some poor marking on a corner.

Just when it looked like the game was over, two second half substitutions sparked the Blues into a comeback, with Oumar Niasse and Dominic Calvert-Lewin tying the game.

And then another sub Aaron Lennon got clattered fortunately in the box on the 90th minute, and Baines put the Blues ahead from the spot, with an incredible 12 minutes of time added on.

The Blues got lucky with Tom Cleverley sliding his penalty on the 100th minute wide to preserve the win.
