FA Cup Draw: A favorable quarterfinal match is possible for Spurs

Take care of business tomorrow first.

Tottenham Hotspur will play their fifth round match tomorrow at Rochdale AFC on a freshly laid pitch in an effort to reach the quarterfinals. The Football Association didn’t wait for all the matchups to be completed, though, as the quarterfinal draw was held this evening in London. Awaiting the winner of Spurs vs Rochdale is a very favorable matchup.

Spurs/Rochdale were the second ball out of the bowl tonight as they were matched up with the winner of the replay between Championship side Sheffield Wednesday and Premier League side Swansea City.

The stars are aligned yet again for Spurs to make it to Wembley in the FA Cup, given the bullets dodged in each draw along the way. The rest of the draw is also setup to see some familiar faces in those matchups.

Manchester United were drawn at home against Brighton and Hove Albion. Leicester City will host Chelsea, who continue their roller coaster season of ups and downs. The winner of Wigan and Manchester City will have a home match against Southampton. So, yes, it’s entirely possible to have a murderers’ row of Spurs, United, Chelsea, and City in the semi-finals, but we all know about the magic of the FA Cup so here’s hoping we see some upsets not involving Spurs along the way.

These matches will be played between March 16-19.
