Good morning Spursland!

Now, forgive me for the brief diversion away from football (in the Hoddle of all places, unforgivable)- but how many of you out there have seen the film Arrival? Those of you that have, take a look at this picture and tell me how justified I am in feeling a little nervous right now.

Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that he welcomes the kind of pressure and criticism that followed Spurs’ derby defeat, as it acts as a motivating factor for him and the Tottenham squad. In that case... *goes to pocket where I keep my list of go-to withering slams*.

The response that Swansea City’s head coach has been receiving from the club’s supporters recently after a string of disappointing results has been far from Clement- and now the board have given him the dreaded vote of confidence it’s surely only a matter of time before he receives his P45.

Peter Crouch broke a Premier League record during Stoke’s match against Brighton last night- it’s not a very interesting one, but there will always be a place for Crouchie in the Hoddle whilst I’m in charge, damn it.

And finally...

Chelsea loanee Fantaky Dabo scored the own goal of his life yesterday as his temporary side Vitesse (which other club could it have possibly been?) went down to a 4-2 loss to Gronigen. The camera angle makes it hard to judge but I think this one may be partially on the keeper?...
