OK, we’re done for now. We’ve officially exhausted all of our planned team histories for the Recurrently Generated Football League. Now that league football is back, and with a North London Derby on the way in a couple of days, we’re gonna sit back and enjoy the fruits of our labors here for a bit.

But that’s not to say that we’re entirely finished with the RGFL! We have plans involving a custom Football Manager 17 database, and who knows what other surprises are in store for our scrappy league of recurrently generated fictional English teams.

So as a way of saying thank you for reading all of our incredible bulls**t the past week, let’s close this segment with a quiz! The teams we identified in the original article were only a small sample of the full generated list. Some were clunkers, but there were many, MANY more great names that we can use for other things.

Fully half of the teams in this Sporcle quiz are real, actual clubs, mostly drawn from the lower leagues of the English football pyramid. The other half came out of a computer. Can you tell which are real, and which are AI?
