Manchester City play their last pre-season friendly on Friday, taking on fellow Premier League rivals West Ham United at the Laugardalsvöllur stadium in Reykjavik, Iceland. Pep Guardiola’s men had a successful tour of the United States with two wins against Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur and a very entertaining Manchester Derby against Manchester United in the International Champions Cup tournament.

City will use this friendly as their final bit of preparation before the league debut against Brighton & Hove Albion on August 12. This could also be Bernardo Silva’s debut with the Citizens, with the Portuguese missing out on the US tour due to an extended vacation. Bernardo trained with the group this week, and should be ready for a few minutes of action.

West Ham suffered some painful defeats at the hands of the Sky Blues last season during a turbulent Premier League campaign, but the Hammers made some great business in the transfer window, which included the signings of former Cityzens Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart.

West Ham also signed former Man United striker Javier Hernández, and Chicharito will hope to have a good day in front of goal against City. This should be a fun game to watch, and while the result doesn’t matter, it’ll be good to City getting a win before the competitive season starts.
