Inter Milan hoping to secure Mangala deal on Deadline Day - Report

Mangala really wants a move to Italy, but City have other ideas

Eliaquim Mangala looks set to depart Manchester City this summer even though the squad is short at the center-back position, and the Frenchman looked set to join Inter Milan a few weeks ago.

But the Italian club only want Mangala on loan, while City have asked a £20 million fee to complete the deal. Inter never showed any indication to pay the Blues’ asking price, but they convinced Mangala to move to Italy and the player has repeatedly requested for City to accept Inter’s offer.

Then the Jonny Evans rumors came into life, with West Bromwich Albion interested in taking Mangala as part of the deal that would move Evans to the Etihad. With Arsenal and Leicester City out of the race and Inter’s official stance that they were done with their summer spending, City began the process of convincing Mangala to move to West Brom.

But Inter Milan are not yet done, at least according to the excellent Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italia:

Di Marzio reports that Inter weren’t able to complete a deal for Arsenal center-back Shkodran Mustafi, but the Gunners rejected the offer, so the Italians are going all-in for Mangala on Deadline Day.

So Mangala wants Inter, Inter wants Mangala, City wants Jonny Evans, West Brom want Mangala to sell Evans. Confused? You’re not the only one.
