Manchester City have been chasing the signature of Alexis Sanchez for a good amount of time now, and the one thing that has stood in the way of it going through is his current club, Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger understandably does not want to sell his best player to a rival. However, if he holds on to the Chilean for another year, he will likely move to City anyways as his contract is going to run out in 12 months. Despite this, it is beginning to look like Wenger may not have a choice. Alexis wants out now and has told Arsenal to sell him immediately, according to the Chilean newspaper El Mercurio.

Many see Arsenal’s new signing Alexandre Lacazette as Alexis' replacement. It has sped up the rumors, and every day it appears more likely that Sánchez will pull on the Sky Vlue shirt next season. The idea of reuniting with Pep Guardiola makes the move increasingly attractive. The 29-year-old really appears to be on his way to City.

Alexis’ transfer fee will be somewhere around £50 million, which is more than affordable for the club. His high wage demands also rule out several clubs who have shown interest in him, with City the only club willing to pay him his desired £350,000 per week.

In short, if Alexis wants to go, City are the only club who will sign him. The winger really seems to want the move, and is forcing Arsenal to accept that he is going to join a rival.
