In addition, striker Chuba Akpom, who is part of the first-team squad, will hope to make his first senior appearance of the season.

Midfielder Joe Willock and the versatile Josh Dasilva will aim to add to the experience that they gained in the Carabao Cup victory over Doncaster Rovers, while striker Eddie Nketiah will be seeking to make his competitive debut for the first-team.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who came on as a late substitute in the Premier League victory over West Bromwich Albion last night, could be involved from the outset, although Jeff Reine-Adelaide is struggling with injury so might not be involved.

  1. I don’t know enough about Bate to make a firm comment, but I’d guess they’re a very physical team, as many Eastern European teams are. So I’d guess we’re less likely to start some of the youngsters but the bench could be heavy with them.
