The Guardian has published its annual ‘Next Generation’ round-up, picking out who they believed to be the biggest young talent at each of the Premier League’s 20 clubs.

Tashan Oakley-Boothe was the Tottenham choice is 2016 – the 17-year-old came off the bench in stoppage time in the 1-0 EFL Cup win over Barnsley last month.

They’ve picked another 17-year-old from Spurs this year: defensive midfielder Oliver Skipp.

Here’s what journalist David Hytner had to say about the teenager…

Skipp played 18 games for Tottenham’s under-18s last season and he even got on as a substitute for the under-23s in February – all this while he was still a schoolboy. This season he has stepped again up to become a regular at under-23 level and the overall impression is of a player who is mature beyond his years. A firm favourite of the club’s head of player development, John McDermott, Skipp is a tenacious defensive midfielder with composure, an eye for a pass and an excellent attitude.

He certaintly sounds like a big prospect. Hopefully we’ll see Skipp feature in the first team over the next couple of years.
