Last month we relayed reports suggesting Real Madrid left-back Marcelo will miss his side’s Champions League meeting with Tottenham at the Bernabeu on October 17th through injury.

The Brazilian could also miss the reverse fixture at Wembley on November 1st if he fails to recover in time.

Now, reports are emerging that former Spurs star Gareth Bale will miss the first game with a calf injury that will sideline him for a month.

That means he should also be ruled out of the return game next month unless his injury clears up sooner than expected.

In more worrying news, Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal has been diagnosed with a heart condition. He should also miss both Tottenham clashes.

It’s a shame three of the European champions’ best players will miss at least one of the matches, but it’s undoubtedly good news for Spurs if they want to take something away from the Bernabeu.

As for Tottenham, Dele Alli will miss the first game through suspension but should return for the reverse fixture.

  1. yes their B team is worth more than most PL teams. No money cheating there *ahem*. hard to have respect or liking for the team that invented the money cheat.

  2. I think we have a puncher’s chance against Madrid. They are the better team but we have an extremely good defence and a striker in the best form in Europe. Could be an upset.

  3. Comment: Tottinham are good team right now they can be a problem to madrid, but madrid are real team beyond any one expectation they can change any thing at any time in world football, a team that has the likes of isco, asensio, lucas v,borja mayoral, marcos lorient, dani ceballos, nacho fernandez and vallejo as their subtitute i dont think injury will be their worry, just keep faith “madridistas”.
