Tottenham travel to Newcastle for their first match of the new Premier League campaign on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be seeking revenge after losing 5-1 in this exact fixture on the final day of the 2015/16 campaign.

Spurs remain the only Premier League club yet to make a signing this summer, and as a result the squad is looking a little thin.

Kieran Trippier damaged ankle ligaments in the 2-0 friendly win over Juventus last weekend, meaning Tottenham are without a dedicated right-back to face Newcastle.

There have been suggestions that either Eric Dier or Moussa Sissoko will start on the right side of defence.

I’m going with Sissoko. The Frenhman was used as a right wing-back in the 6-1 thrashing of Leicester City in May and looked reasonably comfortable there.

Sissoko on the right also means Eric Dier can be used in a more comfortable central position. I think Pochettino will use him in a back three.

Victor Wanyama and Heung-Min Son are available for selection, but both players were barely involved in pre-season and so might not be ready to start.

Here’s our starting line-up to face Newcastle — what’s yours?

  1. Imo sissoka will stay and play a bug part this season. Poch is trying to make a versatile playing who can play at RM RWB or CM

  2. Shows your knowledge of Tottenham by the team you with no holding midfielder!
I think if wanyama is not fit then Dier will play with Dembele
