The Portugal winger, who rejected a move to Zenit St Petersburg last season, has 12 months to run on his current deal at Old Trafford.

Negotiations over a new contract have stalled since last summer, however, and both the player and United are now prepared to part company should the club receive an offer in the region of £8.5m for the 26-year-old.

Attempts by Galatasaray to sign the former Sporting Lisbon player have failed to make progress, with the Turkish champions unwilling to meet United's valuation.

But with Monaco and Juventus both keen to sign Nani, the winger is understood to have told associates that he is ready to play in France or Italy next season after opting to end his six-year stint at Old Trafford.

Although Juventus' interest in Nani is long-standing, dating back more than 18 months, Monaco's return to the top division in France has led to the club moving ahead of the Italian champions in the race to sign the player.

Owned by Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev, Monaco have already spent in excess of £100m this summer on Atletico Madrid forward Radamel Falcao and Porto midfielders James Rodriguez and Joao Moutinho.

The club has also been linked with an £85m move for Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, but with Real determined to secure the former United player to a new contract, Nani's availability has made him a more realistic target for manager Claudio Ranieri.

After falling out of favour with Sir Alex Ferguson last season, Nani started just seven Premier League games for the champions, but Ferguson's retirement has not altered United's stance on the player, with incoming manager David Moyes set to welcome Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha to the first-team squad next month.

Nani could be followed out of Old Trafford this summer by fellow Portuguese winger Bebe, who is attracting interest from Sporting Lisbon.

The 22 year-old has made just seven first-team appearances since being signed in a £7.4m deal from Vitoria de Guimarares in August 2010 and attempts to sell him to Besiktas two years ago were scuppered by the player suffering a cruciate ligament injury during a season-long loan at the Istanbul club.

However, despite his failure to impress at United, Bebe enhanced his reputation in Portugal with a productive spell on loan at Rio Ave in the second half of last season and Sporting are prepared to strike a permanent deal to take him to Estadio Jose Alvalade.

With the fallen giants of Portuguese football suffering financial difficulties, however, United are unlikely to receive an offer that will enable them to recoup a healthy proportion of their initial outlay on the player.
