Pedro has flown home to England for more tests after suffering concussion and facial injuries in the friendly win over Arsenal.

The Spanish winger will miss the rest of Chelsea's pre-season tour of Asia following the clash with Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina midway through the first half.

Pedro fell awkwardly after colliding with Ospina and was taken to a hospital in Beijing on Saturday evening for observation, where he stayed overnight.

He was then flown home to the UK where he will undergo further medical tests.

After Chelsea's 3-0 defeat, manager Antonio Conte appeared more optimistic and said: "He went to hospital but he will be OK. He had concussion so the doctor preferred to take him to hospital to check him and if he’s OK he will travel with us tomorrow."

Chelsea flew to Singapore after the game and will face Bayern Munich on Tuesday in the International Champions Cup.

Record signing Alvaro Morata, who joined from Real Madrid this week for £58m, could make his debut.
