Dimitar Berbatov famously learnt English from watching The Godfather and now the 36-year-old has recreated one of the film’s most iconic scenes.

The former Manchester United forward channelled Marlon Brando’s Don Corleone for a spoof scene from the 1972 classic film.

His seven-year-old daughter Dea also stars in the clip, entering her father’s office to ask for tickets to an upcoming all-star charity match.

Instead of stroking a cat like Corleone in the scene, Berbatov instead opted to sit in his office with his beloved Premier League 2010/11 Golden Boot trophy on his lap.

“I hope you enjoy and smile as much as we did, while we were shooting this ‘masterpiece’. For all the fans of The Godfather,” he posted.

Berbatov will take on a team featuring former Real Madrid and Barcelona star Luis Figo at the Vasil Levski Stadium in Sofia, Bulgaria, on June 14.

“It will be an honour to play against Figo and his team,” Berbatov added. “This match is the best opportunity to bring to Bulgaria colleagues and friends from over the years, whose names are known all over the world.

“Together with them and with you who will come to the stadium, we will contribute to a better tomorrow.”

Former Manchester United stars Dwight Yorke, Rio Ferdinand and Ryan Giggs will also make an appearance.

The squad also includes Berbatov’s former Tottenham team-mate Robbie Keane, PSG defender Maxwell and ex-Arsenal duo Jens Lehmann and Robert Pires.

Berbatov previously revealed he watched films to improve his English, explaining: “That's the way to learn if you don't want to go to school.”
