Man United target wanted by Real Madrid

Manchester United target Marco Verratti is wanted by Real Madrid, according to reports in Spain.

The Italian enjoyed a fine debut season at Paris Saint Germain and has continued his impressive form into the summer's European Under-21 Championship.

That has seen the former Pescara youngster linked with a number of clubs around Europe, including United, Real Madrid and Juventus.

The 20-year-old has reportedly demanded a pay-rise to stay with the French champions, and now his agent has claimed Madrid are ready to make a move for Verratti's services.

"Next week we will meet to discuss the future. Real Madrid are interested," Verratti's agent, Donato Di Campli, told Sport Mediaset.
