Juventus boss Antonio Conte in link to Manchester United job

Juventus boss Antonio Conte is in the frame to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford, according to reports in Italy.

Conte masterminded Juve's stunning Serie A title success last season, in which they remained unbeaten, and his side are top of the Italian top-flight at the midway point of this term.

And newspaper Tuttosport have claimed that Conte, 43, has been lined up as a potential candidate to become the next Manchester United manager.

It has been suggested that Ferguson, 71, could stand down as early as this summer, although retirement within the next two years is more likely.

There has been much speculation about who could replace him, with Pep Guardiola mooted.

But it is unclear whether the Spaniard will still be unemployed by that point and Conte, one of the most promising young managers in the world, could fit the bill for United.
