Bournemouth cannot afford to make any mistakes in Saturday's Premier League clash against Tottenham, according to Eddie Howe.

Spurs have been in superb form at White Hart Lane this season, winning 14 of their 16 top-flight fixtures on home turf.

Mauricio Pochettino's side are clinging onto the coattails of leaders Chelsea and will be determined to maintain their unbeaten home record at the expense of the Cherries.

Bournemouth are still battling to retain their Premier League status and Howe is well aware his players will have little room for error in N17.

"We'll need to match our performance from the home game earlier this year or even surpass it to get a result at White Hart Lane," Howe told his pre-match press conference.

"If we make any mistakes at Tottenham they'll punish us. We didn't play well there last year. Hopefully that experience can inspire us."

Spurs striker Harry Kane scored five goals in two appearances against Bournemouth last season but missed October's 0-0 draw on the South Coast due to injury.

Kane is in line to start this weekend's game as the 23-year-old closes in on full fitness but Howe is reluctant to focus entirely on the striker's threat while attempting to plot a route to victory.

"He is one of their key players but it's very difficult to focus on one player against any team," Howe added.

"Because if it isn't him who is hurting you, it will be someone else - Dele Alli or Christian Eriksen.

"When we played them earlier in the season, he [Kane] wasn't available and now, potentially, he will be.

"You always want to play against the best players, I've got no problem with that and it's up to us to deal with that."
