Gareth Southgate says Phil Jones is "fine" after hobbling off with an injury in England's 0-0 draw with Germany on Friday.

Jones, who went off injured in Manchester United's 2-1 defeat by Huddersfield last month with a similar injury, lasted 24 minutes at Wembley having cleared Leroy Sane's effort off the line.

That was Jones' last real contribution, hobbling off the pitch with a heavily strapped left thigh soon after, though it looked like the defender suffered the injury after 10 minutes, before playing on for another 14.

But manager Southgate moved to ease fears of a lenghty lay-off after the game, saying: "I thought there were a few shaky moments in the first half. Mainly due to Phil carrying something.

"He seems fine, we've checked him out. It's something he's been carrying but he doesn't seem to be any worse so that's fine. We'll see whether Phil stays with us."
