Burnley have made a £11.8m bid for Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone, according to Sky sources.

Burnley made the offer for Romania international striker Andone after having had two bids rejected by Championship side Leeds United for Chris Wood.

Watford, Fiorentina, Espanyol and Sporting Lisbon were all previously linked with the 24-year-old, who scored 12 goals in 37 appearances for Deportivo last season.

Clarets boss Sean Dyche is in the market for a striker to replace Andre Gray, who joined Watford for a club-record fee, believed to be in the region of £18m.

Sky sources understand Leeds rejected two bids from Burnley for Wood, with the opening offer believed to be £12m plus add-ons.

The New Zealand striker was Leeds' player-of-the-year last season after hitting 30 goals for the Championship side and has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs during the summer.
