Five stats from Saturday’s Premier League games to tell your mates

Henrikh Mkhitaryan during the Premier League match between Swansea City and Manchester United at Liberty Stadiumin 2017

Manchester United kicked the day off in style with a 4-0 win at Swansea and there was plenty more drama on a busy day of Premier League action.

Liverpool beat Crystal Palace by the odd goal, West Ham came from two goals down at Southampton with 10 men only to lose in stoppage time, while there were away wins for West Brom and Watford at Burnley and Bournemouth respectively. Leicester also beat Brighton and the day concluded with Stoke's win against Arsenal.

Manchester United's Henrikh Mkhitaryan has four assists in the first two games of the Premier League season

Nobody could match Henrikh Mkhitaryan's feat though. After two assists on the opening weekend win over West Ham, the Manchester United player provided another two at Swansea to take his tally for the season to four - all the more remarkable given that Mkhitaryan only managed one assist all season in his debut campaign with United.

Andrew Robertson had 134 touches on his debut for Liverpool against Crystal Palace

Liverpool also enjoyed themselves more against Crystal Palace than they did at Anfield last season when they were beaten by the Eagles. This time Sadio Mane's second-half strike was enough to seal the points and make it a debut to remember for Andrew Robertson. The full-back created three chances and had 134 touches - both more than any other Reds player.

Javier Hernandez scored his first two goals for West Ham at Southampton and has now scored all 39 of his Premier League goals from inside the box

It was Javier Hernandez's second game for West Ham and unlike Robertson he found himself on the wrong end of the result as Southampton scored in stoppage time to win 3-2. It was harsh on the Mexican who had clawed 10-man West Ham back into the game with two goals. They took his overall Premier League tally to 39 - all of them coming from inside the box.

Shinji Okazaki scored the fastest goal of the Premier League season so far for Leicester against Brighton

The quickest goal of the day was scored at the King Power Stadium where Shinji Okazaki required just 52 seconds to open Leicester's account against Brighton. The Japan international became the first player to score inside the first minute of a Premier League game this season and his side went on to win the game 2-0.

West Brom's goal by Hal Robson-Kanu against Burnley after 71 minutes was the game's first shot on target

While Leicester were the fastest starters on Saturday, West Brom took their time to get going in their 1-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor. Before being sent off late on, Hal Robson-Kanu scored the only goal of the game in the 71st minute - the first shot on target by either side despite Burnley eventually going on to register 20 shots in the match.
