All the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Tuesday, January 30.

The Times say Arsenal's hopes of signing Jonny Evans have suffered a setback after West Brom secured a loan move for Daniel Sturridge from Liverpool.

Apparently, West Brom needed to sell Evans to raise money for a striker, but Sturridge's loan means this is no longer a requirement.

Meanwhile, Arsenal could be involved in a striker merry-go-round that sees Olivier Giroud join Chelsea.

The Daily Telegraph report that Chelsea are hoping to clinch a move for Giroud, which will see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang join Arsenal and Michy Batshuayi head to Borussia Dortmund.

Monaco say reported Arsenal target Thomas Lemar is not for sale this month, no matter how big the offer.

"He will stay at Monaco until the end of the season 100%," Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev told French radio station RMC.

"If Liverpool or Arsenal come with a big offer before the end of the market? This is not relevant. We will say no because the objectives are clear. Without important players like Lemar, we will not succeed."
